1880年にハインリッヒ・エルネマン（Heinrich Ernemann 、1850-1928年）のカメラ販売業から出発したエルネマン社は、1889年にドレスデンでカメラ製造を開始しました。そして、1920年にローデンストック社からルードヴィッヒ・ベルテレが転職してきます。ベルテレは1923年にエルノスター10ｃｍｆ2と12.5ｃｍｆ1.8を設計し、エルマノックスに装着して販売され、大きな話題となりました。

エルノスターの短焦点レンズとしては、ボベッテIIに装着された42ｍｍｆ2が知られていますが、このレンズはそれよりもやや長い52mmです。
製造番号は22万番台ですので、製造年は1927年頃と想定されますが、その使用目的ははっきりをはわかりません。

レンズ構成は4群4枚のエルノスター基本形のようです。このレンズの描写ですが、内部に多少の曇りはあり少しフレアが入りますが、予想以上にシャープです。ぜひ作例を参照してください。

Heinrich Ernemann started his carrier as a Camera Dealer in 1880. In 1889, he began production of camera in Dresden.
In 1920, Ludwig Jakob Bertele entered the company and invented Ernostar 10cmf2 and 12.5cmf1.8 in 1923 which were sold on Ermanox Camera.

Ernostar 42mmf2 on Bobette II is famous as the short focal length Ernostar, this 52mm is rather rare in the market. The production might be around 1927 in accordance with serial numbers, the purpose of this lens, however, is not clear.
The composition of this lens is 4groups 4lenses which is the basic composition of Ernostar group.
The description of this lens is a little hazy but more clear than I expected.

昭和の風景と言っては失礼になりますが、運河沿いにはとても懐かしさを感じさせる風景が残っていました。結構夢中になっていましたので、かなり暑い一日でしたが、とても時間が早く経過してしまいました。
川崎大師の風鈴市は、思ったより狭い範囲に店舗が集中していましたので、非常に混んでいました。あまりにスペースがないと、撮影も半分あきらめ気味となります。

今回は絞り込んだ作例が多いので、エルノスターの描写は基本的にシャープです。開放近くの作例では、中心部のシャープな画像と周辺部の多彩な収差による複雑なボケが楽しめます。

I walked along Keihin Canal where I felt good old days of Showa era. The time passed very quickly even on that very hot day because I enjoyed so much.
Wind bell market in Kawasaki Daishi Temple was such crowded because its space was rather small and many shops were concentrated in that space , that I mostly gave up taking photos.
The expression of this Ernostar this time is sharp in principal in many closed aperture
.photo examples. Example photos in full aperture show sharp center image and also can enjoy rather complicated bokeh in peripheral part which is coming from various aberration.

横浜のみなとみらいを散策しました。赤レンガ倉庫ではまだアイススケートリンクが残っていましたが、大きなイベントなどはありませんでした。
レンズは多少の曇りがあり、軽いフレアが入りますが、画面全体にシャープです。ボケもあまり目立つ特徴はありませんが、ごく周辺部には光量低下と流れが見られます。
レンズ外観デザインの秀逸さと合わせて、お供に持ち出したくなるレンズですね。

Walked around Minato-Mirai area in Yokohama. There remains Skate Link in front of the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse but there were no specail events or fest.
The description of this lens shows some flare because of a small white tarnishing , but generally sharp. I could not find specific Bokeh except a little vignetting and a little flow at the edge of the photo.
Additionally, the design of this lens is very impressive.
